Our mission is to make sure that help is available, right here in the West Island, to any resident in need. We do this by raising crucial funds for West Island charities that offer vital services and programs.
Forest of Wishes
Eight companies have sponsored and decorated trees in the Forest of Wishes on the ground floor (in front of Sears) at Fairview Pointe Claire. (Sponsorship fees benefit West Island Community Shares). They are hoping to win your vote and the title of the "Favourite Holiday Tree". So please click here for details and to vote!
GivingTuesday is a National Giving Day
We are proud partners of GivingTuesday! Most people know about Black Friday and Cyber Monday … now GivingTuesday is coming to Canada on December 3, 2013.
It is a new national movement for giving back to the community that takes place after Cyber Monday. The “Opening day of the giving season,” it is a day where charities, companies and individuals join together to rally for their favourite causes and think about others.
We are bringing the movement to the West Island and making it easy for you to get involved. To help the more than 40,000 West Islanders in need this holiday season, make a $5 donation to Community Shares by texting the word SHARE to 45678. Together, we can make a difference!

The Association makes it possible for those with severe physical or sensory handicaps to learn to sail.Take a few minutes to watch this video to see how you've made a difference in this young man's life through your support of West Island Community Shares. Thank you!
100% of the funds raised goes directly to the charities we fund because our Corporate Partners help to cover our costs of operations. Since 1998, we have distributed more than $8.5 million.
