JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title:  Manager, Donor Relations and Development 
Job Requirements:  30 hours / week – with some evening work 
Location: Hybrid - Office in Beaconsfield and work from home 

Quick Overview 

The Donor Relations and Development Manager is a key member of our high-performing team, reporting to the Executive Director. In this role, you will steward and help grow a portfolio of donors and corporate partners, helping strengthen the impact of West Island Community Shares.

We are looking for a collaborative, bilingual professional with strong fundraising and relationship-building skills who thrives in a dynamic, community-focused environment. With excellent organizational abilities and a strong donor-centric approach, you will help engage supporters and build meaningful partnerships that advance our mission. 
Compensation: Targeted range of $28–$35 per hour, depending on experience. 
 
Main Responsibilities​:

Donor Relationship Management  ​​	Implement donor development strategies through personalized engagement, including visits, phone calls, emails and written correspondence.  Manage a portfolio of assigned donors, corporate partners and sponsors.   Collaborate with internal teams - including Communications, Events, Community Impact and others - to ensure coordinated donor engagement.   Ensure timely and meaningful stewardship through personalized thank you communications and follow up.
Fundraising and Revenue Development ​​	Prepare and present compelling proposals to new foundations and new corporate partners, aligning partnership opportunities with organizational priorities and impact.  Lead the annual mail campaign, coordinating strategy, content, timelines, and execution in close collaboration with communications staff and external partners.  Identify, research, and qualify new prospects for major gifts, corporate sponsorships, foundation funding, and other philanthropic opportunities.  Develop and implement innovative fundraising strategies and revenue-generating initiatives to expand and diversify the organization’s funding base.
Data Management and Donor Engagement  Reporting ​​	Maintain accurate and up-to date records of donor interactions and revenue within the donor management system (DonorPerfect).   Provide donors with impact reports, thank you letters, updates and event invitations to strengthen their connection to our mission.
Team Leadership & Support	Partner with other team members as required  Support fundraising events and initiatives as needed

Competencies or Skills Required 
• Experience with CRM systems (DonorPerfect) and Microsoft 365 or similar collaboration tools.  
• Knowledge of fundraising principles and processes and willingness to introduce new  ideas. 
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage and connect with diverse audience and be able to manage multiple relationships 
• Self-directed with strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize effectively in a multitask environment.  
• Able to work some evenings and weekends for special events  
• Flexible, adaptable, and collaborative team player. 
• Fully bilingual in both English and French (written and oral). 
• University Diploma in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of work experience and education. 
• Ability to plan strategically and prioritize workload independently.  
• High level of discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality of donor information.  
• Demonstrated experience in fundraising or relationship driven sales.  ​
