The many significant events of the past two years towards the BIPOC and the LGBTQ2+ communities have forced everyone to take a step back and reflect on their own bias. Many employers have joined in this moment of introspection to create a more inclusive workplace open to all.
From the ways we communicate, to our corporate culture, add to the mix new technologies and the permanent search for new talent, the pace of change can be dizzying. The West Island business community is not only adapting but is now embracing a new paradigm where cultural, sexual, and ethnic diversity is the norm. We have chosen to highlight the personal stories of trailblazing individuals who are paving the way towards a more inclusive, diverse, and equal West Island workplace environment. More work still needs to be done, but representation is key towards equality for all. |
