These 7 community organizations offer a wide range of mental-health and physical-health related services to support West Islanders suffering from eating disorders, arthritis, cancer, substance abuse and the numerous side-effects of mental health issues.


During the first wave of the pandemic, Statistics Canada reported that 27% of people aged 15 – 24, 19% of middle-aged adults and 10% of seniors, had symptoms of moderate to severe anxiety related to COVID-19.

    ANEB, Anorexia Nervosa and Bulimia helps West Island residents and their families whose lives have been affected by an eating disorder.

    West Island Cancer Wellness Centre offers compassionate care and support to anyone experiencing cancer – either having it themselves or supporting someone with cancer.

    Équipe Entreprise provides work to individuals living with a mental health problem in a positive and supportive environment, with the goal of helping them improve their work skills and enhance their self-esteem.

    Friends for Mental Health provides crucial support, psychosocial counselling, training and respite services to those close to a person living with a mental health disorder.
